First created in Edinburgh in 1947 by Ronald Morrison, Glayva was born from a desire to craft a liqueur unlike any other. After carefully perfecting his recipe, Morrison blended Scotch whisky with a unique selection of spices, citrus fruits, honey, and almonds, creating a spirit that quickly earned widespread acclaim. Its name is derived from the Gaelic expression *Glè Mhath*, meaning "very good"—a fitting tribute to the enthusiastic response the original recipe received.
Today, Glayva remains celebrated for its rich heritage and unmistakable character, offering a versatile whisky liqueur that can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or as the foundation for sophisticated cocktails.
