Barossa Shiraz at its finest, showcasing the dark fruit, intensity and freshness of the Ebenezer sub-region at the northern end of the Barossa Valley. Rich and structured with ripe fruits, approachable on release but with the intensity to age over a decade.     Produced from a single block on the Hahn Ebenezer vineyard post-harvest the grapes were de-stemmed a closed static fermenter and spent 12 days on skins. After pressing and settling the wine was sent to 100% new French oak hogsheads sourced from the finest coopers for malo-lactic fermentation and maturation. Blending occurred October 2016, each barrel was assessed for quality and appropriateness of wine style with only those best suited being utilised in the final blend. The wine was further matured in bottle prior to release. A fantastic growing season, thanks to good winter rains, followed by a drier than A warm early spring led to an earlier than average bud burst, conditions cooled through December until Christmas. January began with a period of heat, but this cooled through mid to late January. February whilst having warm days maintained a lower night temperature. Towards the end of February daytime temperatures increased allowing for a rapid end to harvest. The result was a very early ripening vintage of exceptional quality.

Fine, graphite tannins drive the length of the wine that well integrated oak very subtly sits behind to support and add tailored complexity. The wine shows pedigree and hallmarks of the potential of the vineyard with a long life ahead of it.
